#13 Things I’m curious about
All the books, podcasts, articles and substacks that have kept me curious this week
Welcome to my new subscribers this month. I hope you will find something interesting and perhaps inspiring in all the things I have this week. This is where I share the books, articles, podcasts and of course substacks that have kept me curious.
Hello old friends, to those that join me week after. I love writing for you and sharing everything that has sparked my curiosity. As
wrote in her post There are Input and Output years, and I have definitely had a period of input (helped along by 4 weeks of illness) some of which I have pulled into this post for you. Enjoy!I’ve been reading these substacks…

I’m reading these books…
I’ve been inspired this year, by an upcoming trip to Japan, to read one piece of Japanese fiction each month. I loved What You Are Looking for is in the Library by Michiko Aoyama. It’s a beautiful story of finding exactly what you’re looking for in the most unlikely of places. If you’re contemplating what to do next in life this one is waiting for you.
Intrigued by the cover which seemed to be everywhere last year and an inspiring talk at by the author at The Cheltenham Literature festival I had to read The List by Yomi Adegoke. A brilliant story that navigates the complexities of social media culture and relationships
I’ve loved Dolly’s writing since I discovered Everything I Know About Love but her second fiction, Good Material is a brilliant story of the end of a relationship and the aftermath from the perspective of Andy a comic who’s career hasn’t yet quite gotten off the ground
I love a story that spans time, jumping back and forth between characters and eras. Love Untold by Ruth Jones is a beautifully told story of 4 generations of Welsh women and the importance of connection
I’m watching…
An embarrassing number of shows, did I mention I’ve been ill? Here are the ones I’ve enjoyed the most throughout the dark nights of January.
Bad Sisters on Apple TV - written by and staring Sharon Horgan covers the story of 5 sisters and the lengths they will go to protect each other
Mr Bates vs The Post Office on ITV - shows how the power of drama can raise awareness and drive action
The Last Thing he Told Me on Apple TV - mystery drama where the story keeps evolving with lots of twists and turns
Good Grief on Netflix - both sad and beautiful. Written and staring Dan Levy who also chatted to Elizabeth Day on How to Fail recently.
The Change on Channel 4 - something a little lighter. A comedy about a menopausal woman who calculates all the time she spent doing things for others, deciding to take that time back for herself goes on a trip
Ah thank you so much xxx
